How many Avatars do you have?

I've heard talk about "alts" and "fragments" and "backups" . An alt is an alternate avatar. a "fragment" (as I understand it) is an avatar that represents just a piece of yourself. I've also heard some people keep another avatar around to save their stuff. I've got three avatars that I use but have created at least six in SL over the years.

So how many avatars do you have and how do you use them?

I have one account on IMVU - have had my female avi since I began in April 2007 and in November 2007 I purchased a male avi - have recently been putting together a few outfits for him too. I just changed my avi name in IMVU this week also. About 3 weeks ago I created an accont on SL.

I have two accounts on IMVU
I have two on SecondLife but have not invested into it, and have uninstalled it.

I have two avatars: one for work and one for play - but the one for play has never really gotten to play very often!

I have 3, 2 for play and one for work all in SL. First one rezzed in 2005 and I play far more that I work in SL.

One for networking and demos, another for lendng out at demos, and a third for my own down-time.

7 on one grid and i wont say which one. in myspace i think i have about 9

There was a reason for each one and i wouldnt give up any of them. they are all have had different tasks. I only use 2 of them routinely for two diff grids.
