What are your patients waiting to be treated for? I currently facilitate a virtual community (AW based) for post-organ transplant pediatric patients but am interested in the whole area of the use of social media etc. for providing support for patients- so am interested in learning more about what we can do.

Hi all-

Just a quick intro-

I'm a Biomedical Informaticist interested in patient/patient and patient/provider communication. I've got a few papers up on my website (john-norris.net) on VW's and healthcare support groups. I also help maintain the Path of Support on Healthinfo Island in Second Life.

There are quite a few folks using VW's to support the chronically ill. I look forward to discussing this and other topics-

Hya! Currently involved in CPR education through Second Life, I am interested and willing to help any health project through SL.

I am studying the possibility to have patients take a sort of quiz developed via PIVOTE in order to have feedback on their follow up/recovery.

A fulltime presence of professionals would be not possible and not to be promoted because of the impossibility to check/see directlythe patient.

Any suggestion on other uses of VE other than awareness campaigns, lectures, conferences, procedure panels etc?

Regards

Dr. med. Stremlow (Germany) and I have created a RL German language training module for Smoking Cessation:

We are now looking to extend this training module for Second Life, in English and German:

And also focus on the following settings:

Smoking Cessation in a School Setting

Smoking Cessation in a Company Setting
