i am a student in Newcastle University,studying e-business. i am doing a project on business models.I try to identify business models components in Second Life.I try to find important aspects of these components through a survey.So if you do business in Second Life give only 2 minutes from your time to help a poor student with his project.God bless you:)

A new internet TV program launches on February 1st that delves into how people spend their lives online. Life On Line, as the name suggests is about how people are increasingly spending more of their lifetime using the internet .

The TV show is the brain-child of Australian journalist and communications consultant Steve Cropper, who in 2008 was 'Angelico Babii', host of the LATE SHOW on Metaverse-TV (www.metaverse-tv.com) and the creator of My-Metaverse (www.my-metaverse.com) a social network for people involved in the new media arts on the web.

"We want to go deeper into how people use their online time for news and entertainment, creativity, love, friendship, business, shopping, political engagement, work and play - or any other reason", said Cropper. "We also scan the internet for emerging new talent - musicians, movie makers, writers, bloggers - anyone who is contributing to the richness of digital life".

The line-up also boasts the Marketing Director of the Association of Virtual Worlds, Andrew Peters who is also a leading practitioner of social networking and internet marketing campaigns. Every episode features internet news man Sigmund Leominster, a veteran blogger. There are guest comedians and musicians and interviews with people making news across the internet.

We have just launched www.tripshows.net

I need people to test it and fill it with initial content. This is a travel social media site. I need people to upload travel videos, pictures and make comments. I need people to invite others to join. Really test it out.

I'm going to give a free t-shirt to the firs 20 people who sign up as well as an additional shirt to the top 5 rated videos (that way you don't have to be in the top 20).

You're quite right Caleb. 'Milage May Vary' applies as well. It's a complex process, but should be based on your specific need. Some are in VWs simply for the social aspect, so heavy social networking aspects are important, and minimal cost is also desirable.

The other end of the range is immersive VWs where you need to invest in order to get started. SecondLife is one of the least expensive ways to become involved in a VW. More expensive and specialized VWs are available, such as Forterra or ProtoSphere. Another dimension to consider is your level of gaming interest; some worlds have a heavy game emphasis (Entropia) and others less so (Selective SL locations).

there's alot of different VR worlds out there, but the main thing is, how much are you willing to spend on them to get started, and get going in each one as a developer. Three popular ones that pop into my head right off the bat are Second Life, There.com and IMVU. Each with there own engine, there own toolset, so learning process for each one is a little different as well. One that I've been thinking about getting involved with for some time now, that not alot look at in retrospective, is Entropia Universe, probably not the cup of tea for everyone, but its one thats interested me for awhile.
