Association of Virtual Worlds

The Business & Social Network

During a Knowledge Networking meeting discussion hosted by Barry Everett, we had a discussion about how skilled SL people can support each other in winning and fulfilling projects. Barry mentioned a guild.

Anyone here up for participating in such a guild? I'll host a regular meeting in SL if we have sufficient interest. To start, let's meet Monday evenings at 6P PDT. If this time excludes anyone, let me know and we can change the time.

Update: It's nearly time and only Barry has responded. Based on that, I'm not going to wait about for anyone. I am Klaatu Quintus in SL; just IM me inworld if you're interested in talking about a guild and we can meet at one of my sims; Opportunity. Perhaps next week we'll garner more interest.

This is one of the things that I started KN to provide: a compost of thought, frustration, and skill, to sprout a garden of activity. OMG, I must have been out in the sun too much today doing my Mowing 2.0 - did I really just spawn some kind of 'garden' analogy in answer to this question? Flip city. Really, though, this look like a REALLY GOOD REASON to have a rolling startup for a joint KN - MLVW meeting. What do you think? Tomorrow is good for me, preferably early (SLT).
You are thought provoking, lol. Yes, I don't really care what flag it flies under, just that it happens and we start banding together to actually help one another. Some of the membership are senior individuals at VW companies and could certainly help others to secure jobs as well as develop their skills.

I don't know how many will appear at 6, given the limited response here, but I'll get on SL shortly and set things up. and get back here with the SLURL.
Heidi has offered Power-Match for a meeting (WED 1100 SLT in Power-Match) today. I will send out info to the KN group. This and all KN meetings are come if you can, and we can schedule as many opportunities as we wish, right? The important thing, as with all networking is to 'tend the garden'. This keeps projects that we are involved in, fresh.
