Isn't he beautiful? There were tons there and all seemed pretty healthy. A friend of mine, a geologist, got yelled at right after this was taken. A person working there told him to not take the rocks.
Yeah, from what I know, in Greece and Italy, cats roam around the cities, and everybody takes care of them. That's really cool of people to watch over their kitties, and let them live freely in cities. Can't say the same about Lisbon - I guard my kitties fiercely at home, and whenever I see one in distress, I go running to help. Was your friend taking rocks off the Parthenon?? LOL

They do take care of them. Dogs too. And there's NO roadkill there. Zero. I was amazed. America doesn't do well by its animals for sure.
Oh, my friend had picked up a piece of concrete. :)
Gandhi said that the measure of a society's development lies in the way said society treats animals.Makes me ask many times the question: who's the animal here??
Any piece of concrete near the Parthenon or the Pyramids in Egypt may be a piece of the actual building...lol!

I have that on a bumpersticker on my car. :) Are you on a vegetarian too?
Was for two years, almost a decade ago. Had to come back to eating meat due to an anemia. And, ever since then, considering taking again the huge responsibility of becoming again a veggie. In any case, I don't eat baby nor small animals. Actually, I hardly eat meat at all, although I do buy it.. but I can't go into a butcher shop...brrrrr!!!!!

We eat loads of fake meats that are high in protein and have iron tablets at the ready. We also eat quiche regularly with organic eggs. Space became a vegetarian for me, thinking it would be easier. Nice kid, huh? :)
Indeed! The variety of veggie options in Portugal is scarce, so it really makes one become a chef of sorts to eat properly. Honestly, I felt healthier not eating meat, and though I do eat it, whenever there is another option, I take it - if a restaurant has a veggie dish, I go for it, or opt for rich salads instead of a stake. But, as you know, the Portuguese and Spanish cuisines are heavily based on meat... It will be a new step for me, in the near future, to go veggie again. It is a huge responsibility you take for yourself and your health, one which atm I'm still not ready to take, as so many aspects of my present life need some organizing. Back when I was a veggie, I was doing Tai Chi every week and meditating a lot, so it was probably the healthiest and sanest moment of my life. I felt great :-) I'm getting there soon!
