The viewer code was open sourced, not the server. OpenSim is entirely built from scratch; essentially a reverse-engineered Second Life Server. Reaction Grid is but one of numerous LibOpenMetaverse based grids: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Grid_List

- Thank you for the warm reception. I am very excited about this emerging sector. The VW2008 conference only solidified my belief that this technology will eventually be as fundamental to society as the Web and e-mail are today.
