Try: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Be aware that Linux and ATI cards don't work together so well. As a general rule of thumb, better to have NVidia card with Linux. My Ubuntu 9.04 is installed on the same drive as my windo…

3D Via Scenes

OK, here’s my thing. I like creating in 3D. I got attracted to it through visiting virtual reality platforms back in the late ‘90’s. One of the platforms I was drawn to was VRML. You could create your models in quite a few 3D modeling programs and save out to that format. It just plain worked without a lot of fuss and muss. Onverse

Over the last few years there have been quite a few virtual places popping up. Second Life, Kaneva, IMVU, Exit Reality, Vivaty, Prototerra, etc., to name some. All of them are somewhat unique in their own way. Second Life is huge and immersive. IMVU and Vivaty are basically spaces that can be teleported to and from. Exit Reality and Prototerra (and its newer cousin, 3DJay), are more in between. All, also, have a lot of things in common when it comes to user experience. Such as clubs, dancing, so… Continue

Cobalt-First Impressions

After reading about Cobalt on Hiperia3D I decided to test it out. It is in pre-alpha, so I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a 99mb download and it took a few minutes to figure out what to do with, lol. I opened the pdf and it said something about 'dragging the Cobalt image icon onto the Cobalt Virtual Machine icon.....HUH? I looked for the darned Virtual Machine Icon and then, giving up, tried the old trick (yes, I'm old) of simply double clicking the Cobalt.bat file and… Continue

Heya! Another oldie, LOL, (never growing old, too much fun to be had!) What was your user name in Onlive, we must have bumped into each other!? I've always been Gina, right on thru Olgate to current day Ozgate and Techworlds. Spoiled me early to have rich graphics, ambient sound and VOICE, was way ahead of it's time. I love to dev so I do that on IMVU, let me know which VRML server you hang out on!
