Web native virtual worlds! We are trying to push Virtual Worlds out of their closed environments and trying to match Virtual Worlds with the World Wide Web. In other words, we plan that ultimately, there will be only one big virtual world and that one's called the WWWeb.
Dear Charles,
Thanks for the questions.
1) No comment on the competition, other than the general comment that you already know: 3DXplorer is the only Browser-based AND download-free immersive / interactive web3D platform.
2) Yes. Available in alpha test. We can give you access in private if business involved.
3) Not sure what you mean, please send me an e-mail clarifying this.
4) 3DXplorer is a platform on top of which everyone can develop content, software, products, websites, etc.... It is the developers decision to go open source or not. We support both open source and closed source equally.
I can honestly say that I share your vision. It will take a while but I feel that the future of connectivity will be forever linked with 3D virtual space. I feel with the dawning of high speed WiFi connectivity will make 3D virtual the standard form of communication. In the mean time bridges and highways must be built to connect the current structure. The Promise of cheap dependable high speed WiFi may seal the deal for the one wwweb!
to Brendan: the whole 3DXplorer architecture is webnative. Navigation from space to space is possible exactly in the same way you navigate in web2D. You just create a hyperlink for an object (a door for example) to navigate to another URL, which is just another page or site built with 3DXplorer. You can give it a try right away with your free account.
Looks interesting but you'll need to fix the sign-up submission page so it allows 'long' zip-code details, esp as the site is encouraging international interest (also make it clear which sections of the submission form contains *required* details). Thanks.
Hi Darius: As we discussed, you should connect with Myrl on this network. He's working on a very interesting project related to social networking and the metaverse.

Will our platform be able to do collaboration in real time with documents for example?
Are there plugins for this platform to enhance productivity?
And last what are your thoughts on open source contributors. Is there a way for developers to help build within this marvelous platform?
