The Defining Line

I am relatively curious to know what, in the minds of our members, constitutes a Virtual World and separates it from an interactive website. In essence, this post is more the posing of a question to the association at large as opposed to yet another flood of my own thoughts and opinions.

I've posted some of the questions I feel are relevant and have used in my own opinion making process for this question below, but would gladly accept any input on the matter.

1: Is there even a… Continue

What's your flavor?

Though I have been trying to keep up on everyone as they join, the speed at which this association is growing has definitely started to outrun my fingertips. I'll still make a point to go along and introduce myself to everyone, shake virtual hands, and that sort of thing. For now though, feel free to consider an open invitation of friendship and camaraderie from myself to you (whomever "you" might be at the time of reading this post).

For those interested in discussing some of the various… Continue

As the masses gather...

I must say I'm already quite impressed with the caliber of people showing up to participate, even with fewer than a dozen signed up. It good to see old friends from former and ongoing projects (though, I'm sure there is little coincidence to that), and always a pleasure to meet other like-minded individuals.

I have a feeling this association will soon become a major force of influence among the virtual world community, and its exciting to be even a small part of such a grand movement… Continue

A notorious avoider of cameras, I'd planned to wait before tossing up my likeness until I could find a picture that didn't make me look like Antonne LaVey, but the spirit of friendliness got the better of me. This one was taken a couple of weeks after my daughter passed away last year, so bear that in mind when you start getting that "lock your doors, he's a serial killer" feeling. : )

Hi Nicholas i have been working on a prototype to make the water spin the same way as my northern friends. I wonder if it would need to be reversed if it was to work when I travel north :) I keep trying to get back to a paper I am trying to write on face to face meetings in Second Life but I keep getting distracted by the multiple realities of my alt life - thanks for the friendship.
