Hello Paul,
This Second Life idea looks great. I have posted some ideas on my profile. Please feel free to contact me if I can assist or become a potential partner.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Paul -- your IT recruiting site has a very usable interface -- what is especially good is the breakdown of specific skills needed for each position; sometimes that's hard to get in a succinct manner. What kind of usability testing have you done? Is it pulling the # and types of applicants you want? Or are you looking to do recruiting in virtual spaces? I'm starting to see more employers recruiting through Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social networking platforms; I get recruited a lot even though I'm just working to show students how to be responsible networkers. I keep hearing about employers doing first-round interviews in SecondLife -- but I don't think most are at that stage yet. Although I could see a virtual career fair as a possibility -- it would be easy enough, for example, to do a virtual component to our spring NonProfit & Government Career Fair in a virtual world.
Do you post jobs out of state? We have 25+ career offices at my Illinois campus (incl. mine which is the hub and Engineering which is the tech center), and several of us have online posting systems that are free to employers who wish to post recruiting notices. Even if a job requires experience, you can recruit alumni looking for jobs. We also have alwaysillinois.org -- Illinois social networking platform -- you can purchase ad space for job postings on there. It's open to students, staff/faculty, and alumni.
Do you belong to MWACE? Conference will be in St. L. last week of July. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I'm fortunate to have the teaching background, IT background, and now, the career background.
