Association of Virtual Worlds

The Business & Social Network

Just got a big crew in to the AVW from ActiveWorlds. I haven't spent a lot of time in ActiveWorlds, but do recall being a touristy-looking avatar there with a hat, hawaiian shirt, and bermuda shorts for a while. A stocky fellow I think. I enjoyed the world and looking around it. At the time, I was doing a survey of a whole number of worlds, and as such moved on.

Having ActiveWorlders here is fantastic as this is an organization seeking to further the medium of virtual worlds rather than any brand in particular. Not surprising, the crew from ActiveWorlds seems as tight as any of the other groups that have joined in droves since we started. Second Life, IMVU, doesn't really matter. Point is, the medium draws people together, despite the physical distance between them. We have ActiveWorlds people here from, off the top of my head, Canada, New Zealand, the United States ... and they all seem to know each other -- or at minimum, feel like they're part of the same team. Great to see.

Welcome to our ActiveWorlds members.

Hi Dave: It's a big pleasure im sure for all of us from Activeworlds to be here in and with the growing community association of virtual worlds. With new intrest and excitment over all that happens in VR, im sure the input our members and frends have to share will be informative, frendly and funny even. They are a great bunch we have, and some of us date back the early days of when virtual reality became popular. Thank you for having and hosting our members as we travel the metaverse spreading the cheer and excitement we all bring to what Virtualy Reality realy is and how ActiveWorlds has helped us all create it together. Hiya Dave: As you may have read I have been apart of Aw since 98. Before that I ran a BBS dating myself here. The BBS world was much like the Aw world people came together to share the good times, laughter were willing to help each other out. I discovered Aw at a Sysop Reunion in Columbus Oho. Little did I know how much of a impact that reunion would have on my life. Or how involved I would be in Aw. I am glad to be apart of this and Aw. I too thank you for having us and giving us this spot to share the good times we all have in Aw. Check out AW 4.2 we have come a long way. And it's going to be GREAT.WE Rock! And if you have time check out the Aw Tennessee Reunion

Hi Dave, Been in Active Worlds since 2001, and am very pleased with the direction it has taken since then. We will be having a little get together in Pigeon Forge Tenn between July 30 and Aug 4 th this year, and I'd like to take this opportunity to invite anyone in the area to drop on by and say hi. You can check out the details of where we will be and what we will be doing at : http://awreunion08.com/ Thanks - Nevikl
