I really thought I was in CDMA modem hell - for 3 days now I have been running round in circles trying to get my Verizon wireless aircard to work in my laptop which I installed Windows 7 on.
I uninstalled it and reinstalled probably 20 times - uninstalled the VZ Manager software too at least that many times until I was about to wipe out my laptop and reinstall Vista when I made a minor mistake and hit restart instead of shut down in preparation for the Vista install.
And when I did reboot - I had forgotten I had turned off the internal wirelss card on the laptop - so when the computer rebooted and my MSN messenger logged in and went online without the wifi on and the VZ Manager was off too. SO I looked in the lower right hand tray of Windows 7 and there was a new icon I had not seen before and the IP address was for my aircard. AWESOME.
Oh if your card has not been activated yet there may be a different result - my card had been activated ages ago so I did not have to activate through the VZ Manager.
Kudos to Microsoft for making these aircard installations easy and a part of the network panel under Windows 7.
